Climate/Weather: "The Pisgah National Forest is a large forest that covers much of the north and central western mountains of NC." Climate ranges from Alpine to Mountainist.

Location: "The Pisgah Ranger District is dominated by Mt. Pisgah on the Blue Ridge Parkway and extends on both sides of the Parkway. It is located roughly between the towns of Brevard, Waynesville and Asheville, NC. This area is especially noted for easy access to many beautiful waterfalls, wonderful hiking and camping opportunities, the Cradle of Forestry, and more. The district also includes the Shining Rock and Middle Prong Wilderness areas."

The Pink Beds Loop Trail is an easy trail that includes several different ecosystems which they are bogs, medews, and hardwood forest. Stay on the desinated trail because one can get lost. For the past 20 years, the beavers have changed the landscape when reintroduced.

Pisgah National Forest entrance is located at the intersection of US 276, NC 280, and US 64 right outside of Brevard, NC. The park is on US 276 heading towards Waynesville, NC. There is hiking trails, the Davidson River for fishing and swimming, horseback riding, and places to picnic. There is old cabins at Cradel of Forestry, and even exhibits at Discovery Center, the NC Fish-hatchery, and the Visitor's Center as you enter the park. Pisgah National Forest is like a big national park with a inn, (The Pisgah Inn) on the Blue Ridge Parkway, and Camp grounds in the park.
